If you have not paid your 2025 dues you are not entitled to participate in Post 178 activities to include meetings, canteen access, dining room purchases or any other Legion activities. An individual's Membership expires on December 31st of the paid year shown on their card.

Message from the Post Adjutant:

The year is coming to an end, and we need 561 members to pay their 2026 dues.
If you have not paid yet, please consider paying as soon as you can. We will be changing to a new door key system on January 1 and you will not be able to enjoy the benefits of the Post if your dues are not up to date.

Christmas Dinner will be served from 11:00AM to 2:30PM and will be $6.00. Post will close at 06:00PM on Christmas Eve and 06:00PM on Christmas Day.

40&8 is having a Basket of Holiday Cheer raffle, tickets at the bar for $5.00. Drawing will be held on December 17th at 07:00 PM.

Annual American Legion Department of South Carolina Riffle Raffle is going on now tickets are available at the Bar $25.00 and Post keeps $10.00. Drawings begin July 10th, 2026, and end August 4th, 2026. Get yours now and support the Post.

There will be a benefit for Nasir, Kim's grandson. Nasir is 4 years old and has Leukemia. For any of you that don't know Kim is one of our bartenders. It will be on December 13, 2025, from 1PM to 5PM. Cash Bar, Music, Chinese Auctions, Silent Auctions, $10 donation, Heavy Hors D'oeuvres included with Donation. New Years Eve tickets are now on sale for Wednesday December 31st from 7:00PM to 1:00AM.
The band will be Forever Doo Wop, and dinner will be Prime Rib. Champagne toast at midnight.
Tickets are $110.00 per Couple, $60.00 for a single. Open bar all evening with at $10.00 up charge for top shelf.

Veterans Emergency Relief Fund.
We are pleased to report that we are starting a new fund to help Veterans in financial need.  This is due to a contribution from a member of the Post.  It will be named the Veterans Emergency Relief Fund or Jan’s Fund for short.  Only Veterans of Post 178 will be eligible, and they must be able to demonstrate an actual financial emergency such as unpaid utility bills, medical bills, transportation costs, grocery shortages, etc.  Each case will be vetted individually, and documentation will be required when available.   In some cases, the Veteran may be accompanied by a member of the Post when they need to buy something such as groceries or medical appliances.  Call the Post at 843-651-8784 or the Post Commander at 419-410-9046.

Remember RED Shirt Friday is every Friday, (Remember Everyone Deployed) if you have your red shirt on? Buy two domestic beers or two well drinks get one free from 11:00 AM till 4:00 PM. We also have new Post T-Shirts in now in Red and Black.

If you are in the Building Fund and haven't put your money in yet you need to do so.

The New Attraction books are here, and they are on sale at the bar for $25.00. They are good till 12/31/2026.

The DAV located at 2987 Church St., Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 is open every Wednesday from 9am till 2pm to help with any claims for disability you have.

There is a Collection Box up by the weekly sign in sheet and are asking for any donations that you all would like to contribute; the money goes to the Veterans and Children's Foundation.

Bingo is looking for volunteers to help out on Thursdays and Sundays. Contact the Post or see Commander Harry Malpass or call 419 410 9046 if you can help. We need runners and callers.

Weekly Activities:

1. Bingo every Sunday and Thursday starting at 6:00 PM.  Our Auxiliary will have food and other refreshments for sale. Come out and support the post.

2.  Bowling is each Monday.  Sign in starts at 3:30 PM, bowling starts at 4:00 PM.  The kitchen will be open until 6:00 PM.

3. Team Trivia for December will be on Monday the 8th, and the 15th at 06:00PM.

4. Wednesday night's dinner this week will be provided by the  LaFemmes and will be Spaghetti and Meatballs, Salad and Roll for $11.00. Karaoke at 7pm.

5. Friday night's dinner this week will be Beef Stroganoff over Noodles with Salad for $13.00. Flounder for $14.00. Karaoke at 6pm.

6. Lunch is served Monday through Saturday this week from 11: AM to 2:30 PM.  We need your support in the dining room. Tuesday Night Wings & Tacos!! Be sure to see our daily lunch specials near dining room entrance.

7. Take out and curbside delivery is currently available.  Call ahead to order and then let us know when you are outside.  843-651-8784.
