If you have not paid your 2026 dues you are not entitled to participate in Post 178 activities to include meetings, canteen access, dining room purchases or any other Legion activities. An individual's Membership expires on December 31st of the paid year shown on their card.

Staff, to include bartenders, can request presentation of current year membership card
for purchases and deny entry to anyone without current year membership.

► On January 1^st a member is considered delinquent.

► On February 1^st, if dues not paid, member is suspended.

► On June 30^th, member dropped from Post 178 membership rolls.

Fishing for the Mission 22 is sponsoring the Columbia Protocol Suicide Awareness and Prevention Seminar on Thursday March 12th from Noon to 2:00PM. Speaker Wendy Lakso is a national leader in suicide prevention with 20 + years working with the DoD, the VA, and the White House. The New Card Entry System is installed.

We will be issuing new Card for entry in the next few days.

We will however be checking everyone's membership cards to ensure that you have paid your 2026 Dues to enter and issue you and new lifetime card.
The cost to the members will be $5.00. If a member requires a replacement card for any reason in the future the charge will be $10.00.

We need all members to pay their 2026 dues. If you have not paid yet, please consider paying as soon as you can.

Annual American Legion Department of South Carolina Rifle Raffle is going on now tickets are available at the Bar $25.00 and Post keeps $10.00. Drawings begin July 10th, 2026, and end August 4th, 2026. Get yours now and support the Post.

Veterans Emergency Relief Fund.
We are pleased to report that we are starting a new fund to help Veterans in financial need. This is due to a contribution from a member of the Post. It will be named the Veterans Emergency Relief Fund or Jan’s Fund for short. Only Veterans of Post 178 will be eligible, and they must be able to demonstrate an actual financial emergency such as unpaid utility bills, medical bills, transportation costs, grocery shortages, etc. Each case will be vetted individually, and documentation will be required when available. In some cases, the Veteran may be accompanied by a member of the Post when they need to buy something such as groceries or medical appliances. Remember RED Shirt Friday is every Friday, (Remember Everyone Deployed) if you have your red shirt on? Buy two domestic beers or two well drinks get one free from 11:00 AM till 4:00 PM. We also have new Post T-Shirts in now in Red and Black.

If you are in the Building Fund and haven't put your money in yet you need to do so.

We have lowered the Price of the Attraction books to $20.00. Available at the Bar. They are good till 12/31/2026.

The DAV located at 2987 Church St., Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 is open every Wednesday from 9am till 2pm to help with any claims for disability you have.

There is a Collection Box up by the weekly sign in sheet and are asking for any donations that you all would like to contribute; the money goes to the Veterans and Children's Foundation.

Bingo is looking for volunteers to help out on Thursdays and Sundays. Contact the Post or see Commander Harry Malpass or call 419 410 9046 if you can help.

There will be a training class for calling Bingo on Friday March 13th at 10:00am if you are interested in calling Bingo.

Weekly Activities:

1. Bingo every Sunday and Thursday starting at 6:00 PM. Our Auxiliary will have food and other refreshments for sale. Come out and support the post.

2. Bowling is each Monday. Sign in starts at 3:30 PM, bowling starts at 4:00 PM. The kitchen will be open until 6:00 PM.

3. Team Trivia for March will be on Monday the 2nd, the 9th, 16th and the 23rd at 06 :00PM.

4. Wednesday night's dinner this week will be provided by the SAL and will be Fried Shrimp, Fries and Slaw for $11.00. Karaoke follows the weekly drawing.

5. Friday night's dinner this week will be Chicken Parmesan over Noodles with Salad for $14.00. Flounder for $14.00. Karaoke at 6pm.

6. Lunch is served Monday through Saturday this week from 11: AM to 2:30 PM. We need your support in the dining room. Tuesday Night Wings & Tacos!! Be sure to see our daily lunch specials near dining room entrance.

7. Take out and curbside delivery is currently available. Call ahead to order and then let us know when you are outside. 843-651-8784.
